How To Build Soil.... The Easy Way!
Steel Raven Farms
Building soil doesn't have to be hard! In fact, you only need one thing.
There are a few more parts to building soil, but if all you can do is add organic matter, you will build good, healthy soil.
What is organic matter? Leaves, sticks, lawn clippings, kitchen scraps, pine shavings, saw dust, and anything else that is natural.
Mixing in organic matter into your soil will start bringing dull lifeless soil into rich, microbe filled soil.
Other ways to easily build soil includes cover crops, stop using fertilizers and herbicides, and no or low till.
Cover cropping is an easy way to pull carbon from the air and put it into the soil. When your done with the crop, just chop and drop.
The next thing to do to build soil, is stop using pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. We don't want kill the good things in the soil that we are building.
The last easy thing to do to build soil is to stop tilling it to death. We want the soil to build it's pathways and it can't do that if it's being disturbed by big machines.
