Are you one of those canners that just cans and then totally forgets what you canned?
Do you can a hundred jars of corn, only to realize you’re out within a few months?
Are you trying to be more focused in your canning?
Are you trying to be more purposeful in your food security?

Canning Inventory Sheets
This spreadsheet has been a lifesaver here on our homestead. I created this spreadsheet a couple years ago because I was tired of “losing” jars of food. Of course, I didn’t actually lose jars, but it sure felt like it.
I would can dozens of ears of corn, hundreds of pounds of tomatoes, and cases and cases of beef stew. But after a couple of months, they were gone. Poof.

I knew I had canned a bunch of food, but our storage room looked bare.
Then I realized, I was canning all this food, but it wasn’t enough for the winter. We were blowing through 100’s of jars of food without ever being accountable for what we used.
So I created our canning inventory sheets. Now, whenever I can foods, I input everything into the inventory sheets! When we pull jars out, I simply subtract what we use. Easy Peasy!
If you are struggling with keeping track of what you have canned and what you are using, these sheets will absolutely help!
Of course, you’ve got to actually put the information in it, but they will absolutely change your canning for the better!
This is an excel spreadsheet that you can upload into Google Docs. As you can and put food in your pantry, simply add a line to your sheet. Then whenever you use something, make sure to take it off the sheet.
This inventory has been a game changer here on our farm!
Are You Struggling To Keep Track Of Your Canned Goods?
These sheets have tabs for how many jars you have on hand, veggies, fruits, meals, drinks, baked goods and more.
Simply fill out the sheets as you go and make sure to subtract whenever you use something. You’ll be able to keep up with what you’ve canned and what you’ve used,
Tired Of Running Out Of Food?
It happens to the best of us. We think we only need a case of beef stew and then next thing you know, you have zero and you’re not sure how it happened. Especially if you have a man child that loves your beef stew.
By keeping track of what you canned and what’s being used, you can walk into next winter ready to can more of what you need and less of what you don’t.
Nervous About Your Food Security?
The pandemic that shook our country three years ago was a huge wake up call for a lot of us. It made us realize that we are one disaster away from not being able to feed our family.
But it may not be a pandemic that keeps you from feeding your family. A job loss, sickness or injury, or even storms. Are you prepared?
These sheets can really give you peace of mind because you know what you need for your family AND what you have on hand.
